Rubber band-ligature bleeding

Ligature site after 1 week

During the ligature, the esophageal varix is drawn into a transparent cap and then a rubber ring is placed over it. It leads to a strangulation of the varix with interruption of blood flow. Until 6 ligatures are done in the course of a session to achieve a complete interruption. Sometimes the remaining varices must be ligated in a second session.
